ACLS COURSE 

This course is designed primarily for healthcare professionals in emergency departments, intensive care units, critical care departments, surgical areas, pre-hospital environments, such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other professionals who may respond to a cardiovascular emergency. The ACLS Provider course provides the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia (VF/VT) arrest, symptomatic bradyarrhythmia, tachyarrhythmia, acute coronary syndrome, and acute ischemic stroke. 

 

PLEASE NOTE: All Students attending are required to possess a basic understanding of ACLS algorithms, ECG interpretation, and relevant pharmacology before attending the course. (These will not be taught, but referenced heavily during class.)

 

The American Heart Association requires all attending students to have a 2020 Edition ACLS textbook or ebook for this course. Life Saving Certified is currently becoming a paper free business and offers an Ebook option when registering. ALL OTHER ADD-ONS ARE STRICTLY OPTIONAL.

 

This course is approximately 5 hours.


You will receive your E-card via email from the American Heart Association. This will take place before the next business day, with most cards received same-day. ACLS RENEWAL COURSE

This advanced course highlights the importance of high-performance team dynamics and communication, systems of care, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, immediate post-cardiac arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes.

Designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, and paramedics, as well as others who need an ACLS course completion card for job or other requirements.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS):

  • For healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children and for personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units

What does this course teach?

The PALS Provider Course aims to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing healthcare providers to effectively recognize and intervene in patients with respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest by using high‐performance team dynamics and high‐quality individual skills. The course includes a series of case scenario practices with simulations that reinforce important concepts. Upon successful completion of all the patient cases, students must pass the multiple-choice exam with a minimum score of 84%. Topics include:

After successfully completing this course, students will be able to

  • Perform high‐quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) per American Heart Association (AHA) basic life support (BLS) recommendations
  • Differentiate between patients who do and do not require immediate intervention

The goal of the PALS Provider course is to teach students how to recognize infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest, to provide students with strategies for preventing cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children, and to teach students how to perform the cognitive and psychomotor skills resuscitating and stabilizing infants and children in respiratory failure, shock, or cardiopulmonary arrest. Skills in bag-mask ventilation, management of airway, defibrillation and cardioversion, use of AEDs for children, and rhythm management are emphasized.PALS emphasizes the importance of basic life support CPR to patient survival; the integration of effective basic life support with advanced interventions; and the importance of effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation. Each participant is evaluated individually on his/her ability to demonstrate core course knowledge and skills. This course will prepare you to work as a team member and team leader in a code situation. Course evaluation methods include a skill and practical evaluation using core-based scenarios and an evaluation of the participant's knowledge as measured by a written examination. This is the new American Heart Association CPR course taught with the updated 2020 guidelines. It replaces the previous Heartsaver CPR course.

The Heartsaver CPR and AED Course teaches CPR and relief of choking in adults, children and infants and use of barrier devices for all ages. It also covers the use of the AED machine (Automated External Defibrillator).
It is designed for those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. This would include teachers, fitness trainers, lifeguards and coaches. This is also a wonderful course for anyone that has a responsibility to care for another person including parents and babysitters . It is for the non healthcare professional.
A Heartsaver course completion card is issued at the end of the class, on-site.

 

Heartsaver First Aid, CPR and AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. This course also teaches adult CPR and AED use.
This is the new American Heart Association course taught with the 2020 guidelines. It replaces the previous Heartsaver CPR and First Aid course.

The Heartsaver CPR, First Aid and AED Course includes essential information and training in the first-aid skills recommended by OSHA, all in a format that can be delivered in a single day. The course is modular to meet the needs of a specific workplace or group of employees. The core module comprises general principles, medical emergencies and injury emergencies.

The course teaches basic first Aid, CPR, and AED skills such as:
• Helping someone with a possible broken bone or sprain
• Giving CPR to an infant, child, or an adult
• Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

This is a wonderful course for anyone that has the responsibility of taking care of someone else including parents, families, teachers, babysitters, coaches or anyone involved in organized sports, personal trainers and lifeguards.

 

The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR and AED course is a credentialed course specially designed to train those responsible for children's health in meeting state-specific requirements. This course is backed by comprehensive state-by-state research, and is formatted to allow instructors to customize it to include all topics required. Course modules cover CPR, AED, first-aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, environmental emergencies, and optional topics.

This is the course to choose for efficient, effective training of:

Education and child-care professionals
Recreation and other community program staff
New parents, guardians, and other caretakers.

This course also serves as Part 1 of the California Child Care 15 hour Course as required training for all Childcare facilities within the State of California. It is a requirement for obtaining and maintaining licensing.
Part 2 of the California Child Care 15 hour Course is the CA Childcare Preventative Health and Safety Course and must be registered for seperately. Part 1 and 2 do not have to be taken in any specific order but must be completed within 30 days of each other if applying for a new childcare license.

This is the Blended BLS Online classroom and skills session for the BLS Heartcode.  Once you have paid for the class, an online keycode with instructions will be emailed to you.  Once you have completed the online classroom portion, please call the office at 213-435-4212 to schedule a time to verify your skills.  The skills check off usually takes about 20 minutes to complete.  You will get your card at the end of class.  Once purchased, there are NO REFUNDS.

BLS SKILLS SESSION ONLY

Bloodborne Pathogens Online Course Heartsaver – This course is for anyone with a reasonable chance for occupational exposure to blood or blood-containing materials. This course teaches:

  1. What bloodborne pathogens are and how they are spread
  2. Protection from exposure and how to act if exposed
  3. How to clean up after exposure
  4. How to tell or report any exposure

Duration: 1 hour, site-specific instruction varies. AHA provides 24-hour phone support for questions pertaining to the content in this course. Once you purchase the online course, we will send you the activation code and instructions by email within 24-48 hours.
